Dana and Taylor's Romantic, Fairytale Hartwood Acres Wedding

To say that Dana and Taylor's wedding was a fairytale is an understatement. These two could not have had a better day, venue, vendor team, or group of loving people surrounding them on their wedding day. Seriously, I would like to petition them to make me a part of their family. I started off the day with Dana, her mom, and her sweet brother (her Man of Honor!) at the Wanderlust Beauty Studio. It was such a chill, intimate afternoon with Dana and her family as she and her brother got glammed up and ready to head over to Hartwood. Once we arrived at Hartwood, I met up with the couple's amazing day of coordinator, Heather from Day of Pittsburgh to go over our game plan before Dana got into her dress. The venue, Hartwood Acres, a perfect backdrop for her and Taylor's magical day, even the bridal suite Dana got ready in was fit for a princess! Before heading down the aisle, she and Taylor exchanged adorable letters to each other, along with some really fun gifts (she got him a lego Millennium Falcon, a perfect match for his cufflinks and groom's cake!). The mansion's courtyard was a stunning space for the ceremony, where a beautiful ceremony backdrop built by Taylor and decorated by the AMAZING Community Flower Shop framed the couple during their sweet vows and hand fasting ceremony. The pair had fun, laughter filled nuptials, but kept the ceremony short and sweet. Once the newlyweds said "I do" we walked the grounds of the mansion for portraits, starting with their small wedding party that consisted of just their brothers. Once we snapped a few photos with the wedding party, it was time to have the newlyweds snuggle up for some solo portraits. Dana's beautiful dress from House of Couture was breathtaking and really added to the romantic, fairytale vibe of the day against the backdrop of the old stone mansion. After portraits, the headed to the open air pavilion on the property, decorated with antique tea sets filled with flowers from Community Flower Shop. As their DJ Steven Vance got the party started, the newlyweds danced the night away as the sun set on Hartwood.

Megan and Tyler's Colorful, Early Summer Shady Elms Farm Wedding

I have a thing I donor good luck when I see a bad weather forecast. First, I get annoyed at the weather here in Pittsburgh. Then I sigh, grab as many umbrellas as I can, and haul them out and shove them into my tiny two door hatchback. It's a hilarious struggle, but I do it for any day with 20% or more chance of rain. I hate every second of it, but for some reason it has been pretty good luck, resulting in no rain at about 75% of the weddings I bring the umbrellas to. And Megan and Tyler's gorgeous wedding day was no exception. Leading up, I saw the forecast change a million times, but when I arrived at Shady Elms Farm, you could not have asked for a more beautiful day to kick off June. When I arrived the lovely team at Shady Elms let me grab some florals to style Megan's beautiful details and then let me head down to the bridal suite to document Megan getting ready. The bridal suite at Shady Elms is what my wedding photographer dreams are made of! As Megan had her mom and her ladies help her get dressed, Tyler arrived and prepped for their first look. Under the shade of a tall tree on the property, the couple shared a sweet moment alone before joining their bridal party for photos. I am LOVING this dusty blue color palette mixed with the pink florals and navy suits, this crew was seriously good looking. Once the bridal party kicked butt at photos together, we snuck Megan and Tyler into the woods along the lake for some solo portraits before the guests arrived. These two are unfairly photogenic, so I just adored being able to capture them snuggling up in the pine tree filled woods and on the dock at the lake. After we wrapped up, they snuck away for a few moments alone before they made it official! The pair had a sweet outdoor ceremony on the farm, keeping things short and simple, filled with big smiles and meaningful readings from loved ones. After walking down the aisle, the newlyweds mingled at cocktail hour while I documented the gorgeous decor in the barn. Before dinner, we snuck out for some golden hour portraits and made Tyler's dream come true of portraits with the cows! From there, it was time to dance the night away, ending with a sparkler exit moments before the sky opened up and the rain that had held off all day finally hit!

Abby and Steve's Chic, Classic Fox Chapel Golf Club Wedding

If Abby and Steve look familiar, that’s because I’m pretty sure they’re one of my most photographed couples ever. When I met these two right after they got engaged, they were modeling as a faux bride and groom for a styled shoot with the amazing Sapphire and Lace. Little did I know less than a year and a half later I would be there to document the day as they tied the knot for real. The pair started the morning at one of my all time favorite venues, Fox Chapel Golf Club. It’s pretty much detail shot heaven with the best lighting ever, so of course it’s one of my favorites. As everyone got ready, Bethany from Sapphire and Lace (also one of Abby’s bridesmaids!) such me some gorgeous flowers to make sure every detail shot was picture perfect. After Abby and Steve got dressed at the club, they headed down the road to Fox Chapel Presbyterian Church. I hadn’t been there since the first time I shot at the golf club, over eight years ago (I’m old). The pair had a heartfelt ceremony in the stunning church. I haven’t seen a church with such great natural light! Once their sweet nuptials wrapped, they braved the nearly 90 degree day for some portraits. Since these two had a lot of practice in front of my lens, it was easy to get beautiful photos. Despite shooting several weddings at the club, this was my first time hopping on a golf cart to shoot on the course and it did not disappoint! Once we wrapped up some quick portraits, we all hurried indoor to soak up some air conditioning, pop some champagne, and dance the night away!
