I couldn't have asked for a better start to my tenth wedding season. After a spotty forecast that changed each day, Alexa and Brette's wedding managed to be sandwiched between two gloomy, rainy days. This couple is a total ray of sunshine, so walking in to their wedding with the sun shining, the trees and flowers blooming, it was so perfect. The pair got ready in the hotel attached to their venue, the gorgeous Grand Hall at the Priory in the North Side of Pittsburgh. I'll admit, I LOVE spaces where you can do everything- get ready, get married, and party the night away! The couple had a very classic vibe to their intimate wedding, with a sleek black, white and wine color palette for the day to really highlight the gorgeous space. I started the morning with Wanderlust Beauty, Alexa, and her ladies, just down the hall from where Brette and his guys were getting ready. Alexa looked KILLER in her dress from Exquisite Bride, I was so blown away by the gorgeous beading on it! After Alexa got dressed we all headed next door for the ceremony. Let me just say, if you're thinking of getting married in the Priory, DO IT and get ALL the twinkle lights. It's seriously magical. Alexa and Brette had a sweet, heartfelt, short ceremony before heading out for some photos with the iconic yellow bridges in the North Shore. When I say these two were naturals in front of the camera, I'm not just being nice. They SLAYED their portraits. They were actually so good at being photographed, their videographer Connor Hochbein and I pulled them out of the reception twice just to get MORE photos of these lovebirds, once at golden hour along the streets around the venue and once under the twinkly string lights on the patio at the Priory. Once we got done stealing them away for photos, the newlyweds headed inside to dance the night away until their sparkler exit!
Anytime the amazing Hello Productions reaches out about working with their clients, I know I am going to get gorgeous photos. Their clients have great taste and Hello seriously makes every wedding magical. After getting to meet with Carly, then to have SO much fun at Carly and Evan's engagement session, I knew I hit the client jackpot. For their wedding day, it was a total vendor dream team. I started the day with Carly getting ready, and of course the magical team at Hannah Connard Beauty really emphasized Carly's natural beauty, making her look absolutely fabulous. Of course, with a stunning Milla Nova dress from my all time fave, Bridal Beginning, and a funky, fun bouquet from the talented Julie James really completed the whole look. Since they got ready and were having their reception at the Hotel Monaco, Carly and Evan met on the windy rooftop for their first look and some portraits. Once we wrapped on the blustery, cold, open rooftop, everyone hopped into a Molly's Trolley to hunt down some colorful fall foliage. The ginkgo trees in Allegheny Commons Park provided a perfect photo location, with the bold pops of orangey-yellows looking gorgeous against the bridal party's chic black and white wardrobe. After wrapping up with some photos in the park, the pair headed downtown to get married! After a lovely wedding at the historic Trinity Episcopal Cathedral in downtown Pittsburgh. The newlyweds left their ceremony to a rain of birdseed as they headed over to the reception! Their candlelit reception in the ballroom at the Hotel Monaco was filled with gorgeous greenery, amazing anemones, and accented with funky black accents (see if you can spot the monkey tails in those killer floral arrangements Julie James did!). The pair ended their night cutting it up on the dance floor to the always out of this world Jeff Jimerson and Airborne rocking out!
