I can't believe that just five years ago I was documenting Julie's brother propose, and now I get to be a part of her love story too! She and Garrett feel in love and made their life together in Philadelphia, so as a former resident of the Philadelphia suburbs I jumped at the chance to drive down and take photos of them in one of my all time favorite cities. It was so much fun getting to see the beautiful fall foliage and to take photos in spots of the city I had never seen before. We met in the early afternoon at Elfreth's Alley, the oldest residential street in the country! The narrow cobblestone road, historical row houses, and pops of character and color throughout the small alley worked perfectly for sweet portraits of this couple. I loved getting to explore the area with them while we laughed and took photos, finding funky little side paths and hidden gardens to stop in for shots. Since autumn seems to take a little longer to hit the other side fo the state, we still had some beautiful greenery sprinkled through this small residential area to break up the color of the old brick facades. Once we wrapped up in the city, we had to make an important pit stop on our way to the next location. It was time for them to grab their fur baby and head to the park! Despite growing up not far from the area, I had never been to Wissahickon Valley Park and was so excited when I saw how beautiful it looked in the late fall. While we had to race against the setting sun, the lighting worked perfectly to accent the fall foliage along the creek. It was the perfect way to wrap up a fun session and score some gorgeous orange leaves in our last few photos!
