Braving freezing temperatures, snowy roads, and bone chilling wind, these two nailed their session. Kelci and Matt came all the way from their new home in Michigan for their session, hoping for snow. The day before their session, it was rainy, gloomy, without a single flake to be seen anywhere. When I woke up the morning of their shoot to a fresh dusting of snow, I did a little happy dance, not realizing it was about three degrees outside. Kelci and Matt really held it together for their session. When we arrived at Nemaloin Woodlands Resort for their session, Kelci looked amazing (Jae Lee of JL Makeup Studio is a magician!) and Matt was rocking a super suave suit for their first look of the day. While they look like straight up models in these photos, they were FREEZING. We came up with a plan, using a lot of locations for short spurts of time while running to the car to warm up in between. There's thankfully no photographic proof but at one point poor Matt definitely was wearing my raspberry knit headband for warmth. After braving the freezing temperatures in their fancy outfits, it was definitely time for a little break. We headed back to Nemacolin to defrost and for the couple to change outfits. As the sun was setting, the temperatures dropped, so changing into some casual, warm clothing was a good choice. To contrast the fancy part of the shoot, I found a pretty grove of pine trees for this half of the shoot, and we managed to even catch some sunset shots! The really exciting part about the end of the shoot is as we pulled out of the resort, all of the christmas lights began to pop on. I was sad, we had wrapped the shoot before the lights came on, but as I drove off the hill, I saw Kelci and Matt pulled over, just as excited as I was. It was seriously the most perfect way to wrap up our day!
