When my cousin Casey got engaged and asked me to photograph her wedding, it was such an honor. She and Karl have been together so long it was easy to forget he wasn't always a part of the family, so it was exciting for them to make it official! I made the trek out the the Windrift Hotel in Avalon, New Jersey to document their day. It was a perfect day for an alfresco wedding, the breeze blew in off the ocean keeping the day cool and the patio where the ceremony was held overlook the ocean. The pair opted to do a first look on the baseball diamond across the street, and homage to the thing that brought them together. After grabbing photos up along the edge of the beach, everyone headed to the hotel for an intimate ceremony. The pair incorporated a lot of family oriented details, such as the tie and cummerbund from Casey's dad that were wrapped around her bouquet and her mom's, our cousin Brian being her officiant and his wife doing the only reading, a memorial table for her dad, and a sweet "father daughter dance" with all of her uncles (including my dad, which made me thankful for my second shooter since I was crying SO much). It was such a beautiful, sentimental day followed by a crazy, fun filled reception.
